Chairperson of the board and founding member. Martyn is a software and technology engineer based in Silicon Valley, with over fifty years of experience in the technology industry. To pursue his life-long passion for the ocean and environment, Martyn completed an MSc in Marine Biology, continuing to apply his skills and technology expertise with the Monterey Bay Research Institute. An Apple iOS licensed developer, Martyn specialises in creating comprehensive software tools, and marine observatory device support. Martyn is the inventor and engineer for our wildlife technology device, BuzzBox.
Dr. Samantha Corsellis
Samantha has over 20 years experience in wildlife conservation, and joined our Board in September 2019. Building on her early research interests which focused on primate social systems, behavioural ecology and primate conservation for her PhD at Cambridge University, Samantha also spent 17 years as a Trustee of Tusk Trust and has has been involved in the funding of many key African conservation success stories. She remains a Tusk Ambassador and continues to travel frequently to Africa. Samantha believes strongly in marrying the needs of local communities and conservation initiatives to create sustainable solutions to the challenges facing Africa’s wildlife. She is a keen apiarist and lives in Oxfordshire with her bees and two children.
Chyna joined the Board in September 2016. She is the Partner Alliance Manager at MTI, with expertise in developing high-level business relationships and researching key market data. Her rapid work ethic and efficiency help ensure the charity is functioning effectively and proactively.
A founding member, Leanne manages her event management company alongside her managerial and financial strategy role at Endsleigh Insurance. Leanne brings her keen eye for financial detail and effective planning, to improve efficiencies and strategy within the Board.
Management and Strategy Advisor
Marc is a Partner and head of the London office for AQ&P, a boutique investment and advisory firm headquartered in London and Dubai. Prior to joining AQ&P, Marc spent 8 years at Teneo, the global CEO advisory firm, establishing the firm’s Dubai and Johannesburg offices. He worked directly for the Chairman of Teneo International on a series of acquisitions that drove the firm’s rapid growth. An experienced advisor, Marc has advised some of the world’s most prominent political and business leaders on a variety of strategic governance matters. Before joining Teneo, Marc was at Eurasia Group where he was their lead analyst on East Africa. He also served as a foreign policy advisor to former U.S. President Bill Clinton and the Clinton Foundation. His fascination with elephants started early on in childhood and has strongly defined his travel, research and volunteering interests throughout his adult life.
Creative Fundraising and Communications Advisor
Simon grew up in Kenya and brings his passion for elephants, an extensive background in the film and music industry, and his experience in positions as Fundraising and Business Development for FilmAid International and The Forgiveness Project, to assist our Board and Director.
Simon advises the charity on the designing and implementing of new and creative fundraising events while developing strategic partnerships and beneficial connections to aid the charity in its fundraising mission.
